Grandpa, Thanks for the memories, Love Sister

Louise “Sister” Geiger, paid tribute to her grandfather, James B. Kolb, during a ceremony that took place in Aripeka on Sunday, May 25 when she dedicated the re-opening of the old Aripeka Post Office, run by her granddad from 1952 to 1962.

In droves they came.

Surrounding the 10 foot by 14 foot, refurbished building were generations of family that have lived, loved, and enjoyed the pristine nature of the small community that rests on the Gulf of Mexico.

Historical notes, like music to the ears, were played out by Sister as she spoke so fondly of her grandfather during the dedication of the re-opening ceremonies of a tiny building that survived the treacherous nature of Gulf-side living when the NoName Storm of 1993 found everyone trying to keep their heads above water as a wave of seawater, the likes not seen by most, wafted into the community.
