LAND O’ LAKES — Talk about your up-and-comers. The South Pasco Predator cheerleaders are joining forces with the Tampa Bay Rays.

DADE CITY — The schedule has been released for Pasco County’s boys and girls prep cross country teams with runners and race fans expected to circle several key dates. The Zak Lukas Invitational, Sept. 20 at Hernando, often provides an early glimpse of the front-runners. A later test comes in the Gator Invitational, set for Oct. 11 at Crews Lake Park.

LAND O’ LAKES — The i9 Sports Summer League concluded with three divisional championship games at the Pine View Middle School gym.

In the closest game of the three played on Aug. 15, the Gators edged the Bulls 24-23 for the Juniors (ages 8-10) title.

BROOKSVILLE — A handful of competitors from Pasco County fared well in their respective divisions of the North Suncoast Junior Golf Association’s Tournament of Champions, held Aug. 11-12 at World Woods in Brooksville.
