Frannie the manatee released
Members of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission gather around Frannie, a young female manatee, before they release her into the Alafia River Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Williams Park boat ramp. According to the zoo, the manatee is nicknamed Frannie after being found near the Howard Frankland Bridge in Pinellas County. The young female was rescued by FWC and brought to the zoo in June after she became entangled in a channel marker and four crab traps. After removal of the lines, she recovered well and is now healthy and conditioned for release. Frannie weighed 525 pounds at the time of her rescue and has grown to 640 pounds at her recent pre-release physical. Staff photo by Keith Carson.

Buddy of Land O' Lakes
Buddy is a male Yorkie-Poo mix who lives in Land O’ Lakes. His funniest moment was sliding off the dock while going after a bird. His best trick is walking on two feet. Buddy likes chasing squirrels, eating treats and going to Little League games. But he dislikes taking a bath and going to the vet. But best of all, Buddy has a friend name Carol who loves him very much. Oh, and just in case you are wondering, that is not a real gator that Buddy is using for a chair.
